Led by Dr. Philip Veliz, the new Data and Analytic Hub at the University of Michigan Concussion Center serves as a central resource for concussion research across the Center. The Hub provides end-to-end support for data management and statistical analysis—helping with everything from dataset construction, variable coding, and data cleaning, documentation, and implementation of appropriate analytic strategies for a range of study designs. Dr. Veliz directs a team of data analysts, managers, and students who work to help faculty, trainees, and collaborators to take projects from initial concept all the way to publication.

Beyond primary data collection, the Hub guides investigators through the use of secondary datasets containing concussion and related health outcome measures. This includes identifying suitable datasets, understanding complex measurement structures, and selecting analytic methods that align with current epidemiologic and biostatistical standards. For Concussion Center affiliated postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, the Hub offers targeted statistical consultations to strengthen concussion-focused projects from study design, improving reproducibility, and producing findings that directly inform clinical practice and policy.
