Dr. Steven Broglio, founder and director of the University of Michigan Concussion Center, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Robert L. Moody Prize for Distinguished Initiatives in Brain Injury. Presented by NASHIA, the award honors visionary leadership that advances the field of brain injury and improves the lives of people affected by brain injury.

For more than 20 years, Broglio has helped improve how concussions are understood, identified, treated and managed. His work has supported concussion recovery for athletes, students, service members and families, while also helping shape national and international standards for concussion care.

Broglio recently partnered with NASHIA and the U-M Injury Prevention Center to develop the Concussion Navigator, a tool designed to help families navigate concussion recovery and support successful returns to school, work and daily life.
