Michaela Broadnax joined the Center in November 2022 as the Research Area Specialist and Research Laboratory Manager for Dr. Eleanna Varangis’ Lab within the U-M School of Kinesiology.

Prior to joining the Center, she was a lead research coordinator at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CWRU SOM) and outreach coordinator for the multi-institutional Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (CADRC). During her tenure at CWRU SOM and the CADRC, she analyzed qualitative data, trained research staff members, collected quantitative research data, nurtured institutional and community partner relationships, and gathered preliminary data on recruitment needs for underrepresented populations on 3 National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded grants. She has spent the last two years working with clinicians and researchers from high-ranked academic medical centers, such as Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and Michigan Medicine.
