Izzy Smith is currently engaged in an independent study focused on developing a collaborative program between ROTC and Kinesiology students. Izzy Smith’s goal is to meaningfully apply principles of injury prevention, neurorehabilitation, and neurophysiology within a military training population. This experience aligns closely with my academic and professional interests in concussion research and neurological health. Izzy Smith plans to contribute high-quality, applied research that provides tangible value to both the ROTC programs and the University of Michigan community. By becoming a member of the U-M Concussion Center, Izzy Smith plans to engage with interdisciplinary experts and access resources that will deepen her understanding of concussion science and translational research. The opportunity to learn within this collaborative environment would directly support Izzy Smith’s current work and going forward into the future.
