Debra (Deb) Demski earned her Masters of Urban Planning (Community Organization), Masters of Social Work (concentration in Gerontology and Adventure Learning, attained School SW Approval) and a BA (Sociology) at the University of Michigan. Upon graduation Deb worked in various public and private settings performing direct care/advocacy, program development and management.
In 2015, Deb returned to the University of Michigan in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) as a Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation Technician. In 2017, she became a Research Associate working on Parkinson’s and Dementia studies (Neurology Department). Deb returned to PM&R in 2018, as a Research Area Specialist working on Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) studies. In 2019, Deb became a Clinical Research Coordinator working on Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) research focusing on clinical outcome measures. She is a SOCRA Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) (October 2024). Deb joined the Concussion Center as a Clinical Research Coordinator in November of 2024.
